Student success at Counties Zone Cross-Country

A number of ACG Strathallan students will be running in the Auckland Y7/8 Cross Country at Muriwai, following some excellent performances in the Counties Zone race.

There were some great performances from our students at the Counties Zone Year 7 and 8 Cross Country in Pukekohe recently.

Georgia Lynch took out 1st place for Year 7 girls, running a controlled race, sitting behind the early leader and biding her time. Once she took the lead, she never looked back.

Other top ten finishers:

  • Jeremy Foo and Xavier Balle – Year 7 Boys
  • Year 7 Boys – 3rd in the six-man team’s race
  • Ethan Foo and David Grey – Year 8 Boys

A top ten finish qualifies athletes for the Auckland Y7/8 Cross Country at Muriwai next week.

Both Georgia and Xavier are part of the school’s running programme started this year by professional running coach James Kuegler who is aiming to develop a culture of running at Strathallan.

He said it was great to see the students from ACG Strathallan giving it their all at the event.
