Franklin Orienteering Sprint Series

ACG Strathallan is one of six schools who compete in the Franklin Orienteering Sprint Series. Each school takes turns hosting the orienteering event on their school campus and this week was ACG Strathallan’s turn to host.

The full orienteering course was 2.7km. Students guided themselves over the whole campus starting at the tennis courts, sprinting over to the hockey turf, into the design block via the quad, around the primary school and then the final sprint to the finish line.

Participants have a special scanner on their finger, which they check against each peg, to mark their progress. Rather than racing each other, it is a race against the clock as the scanner keeps track of their minutes.

ACG Strathallan was the fifth school visited in the Sprint Series with only one more week to go. Watch this space for results!
